Tebow in paradise

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Tim Tebow may have opted to come to New York but, in a lot of ways, his heart is still in Florida.

“Well, it’s Florida, so it’s fun,” Tebow said. “Playing at the stadium is fun though. I’ve had some good games in the stadium. I won a state championship and a national championship there. (I’ve) had some fun games. So yeah, it’s a memorable stadium for me.”

One of those games was last year when he was quarterback of the Broncos. It was a come-from-behind, last-second victory, one in a string that set the league on its ear last season. Tebow downplayed the extraordinary nature on Wednesday from his perch in the Jets locker room.

“I remember that we needed some cool things to happen at the end to get a win,” Tebow said. “It was a fun game. It was my first start, so there are some great memories from that. It was obviously a pretty cool win."

Tebow said the Jets will have their hands full on Sunday in Miami if they hope to beat their AFC East rival, even if some of the personnel is different this season.

“I mean some of the guys are different,” Tebow said. “I felt like they were a good team last year. They did a lot of good things and I feel like they’re going to be a good team this year. They’re very good at stopping the run. They’re very good at using multiple pressures, a lot of different guys come on blitzes and pressures, a lot of different coverages. They disguise it well and they show you a lot of different things. They’re very multiple and I think that’s something you see watching the game last week against Oakland.”
