Busy day for CB auditions (UPDATED)

UPDATE: The Jets signed CB Darrin Walls to the practice squad. To make room, they released rookie WR Jordan White from the practice squad. White was a seventh-round pick.

The Jets, looking for cornerback depth in the wake of Darrelle Revis' knee injury, brought in four free agents Friday. They conducted tryouts with Chris Carr, Dante Hughes and Darrin Walls and visited with Aaron Berry, according to a league source.

Carr, 29, a journeyman with 105 games of experience, is the biggest name. But the Jets have no immediate plans to sign him, a source said. Actually, it's highly unlikely they will sign him at all.

Hughes, a third-round pick of the Colts in 2007, has played with the Colts and Chargers. He was cut recently by the Giants. Wells played five games with the Falcons last season.

Berry was in the news during the preseason, but not in a good way. He was cut by the Lions after being arrested twice in less than a month, and he received a three-game suspension by the NFL for violating the league's personal-conduct policy. His suspension is over.
