Injury report: Not looking good for Holmes

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Jets head coach Rex Ryan acknowledged it's not looking like wide receiver Santonio Holmes (hamstring/foot) will play Sunday against Pittsburgh. Holmes has yet to practice since he strained his hamstring against Tennessee on Sept. 29.

"The fact that he didn’t practice today, I don’t know if you want to say it doesn’t look good or whatever," Ryan said before adding that Holmes is a game-time decision type player.

Holmes said it's not his call when it comes to playing against his former team. He said he feels good and it's just the hamstring that is ailing him now, not his surgically repaired left foot.

"Whenever the trainers put me back on the field," Holmes said. "It's up to the doctors right now."

Cornerback Dee Milliner (hamstring), who did some positional drills during practice, did not officially work with the team and did not practice. That's not a good sign for his status for Sunday, but he could potentially get in a practice Friday. He hasn't practiced Sept. 25.

Tight end Kellen Winslow (knee) did not work either Thursday as he deals with pain in his right knee. Ryan said he thought Winslow would be able to work. Winslow also missed two days of practice last week but played against the Falcons. He's on a limited practice schedule as it is.

Cornerback Antonio Cromartie was limited with a hip/knee issue. The knee issue was a new classification for him on the injury report.
