LaDainian Tomlinson wants to play another year, and he would like that to be with the Jets if it works out. Yet, in the last of a two-year deal, the veteran running back has thought this week that he could be playing his last home game at MetLife Stadium.

“Absolutely,” Tomlinson said. “When you know this is the last year on your deal, you always think about potentially being our last time playing here, in that stadium, and so it’s something I’ve thought about this week”

During training camp, the 32-year-old Tomlinson stated definitely that he wasn’t thinking about the 2011 NFL season as his last chance to win a championship.

“I think it’s too early to really think about it,” Tomlinson told ESPNNewYork.com. “I said it earlier during the year, I would like to continue playing. It’s the same. I would love to continue to play if things line up the way they should, but if not I’m not going to be a guy to just try to push it and play just to play.”

But Tomlinson, who entered the league 11 years ago and plays a position that isn’t associated with longevity, says the Jets are definitely on his wish list.

“Yeah, I mean, I think what this team has is a quality sometimes you don’t find anywhere else,” Tomlinson said to ESPNNewYork.com. “This is a team that’s always going be in the running to go to the playoffs, a team that’s in a great division that always has a chance to win. And so why not be a part of that? And so I think we’ll wait and see what happens when the season is over.”
