Shumpert told to lose the adidas logo

Iman Shumpert is known to take his personal appearance above and beyond the norm -- literally, with his 1980s-style flat top -- but one recent fashion statement didn't fly well with the NBA.

Recently, Shumpert had been sporting an adidas logo in his hair, on the back left side of his head. The league told him to remove it.

Over the weekend, he tweeted:

According to Section H, Number 5 in the NBA's Official Rules book, "the only article bearing a commercial 'logo' which can be worn by players is their shoes." As far as any fine, a spokesperson for the league said, "Nothing further on this."

Shumpert, an adidas endorser, is featured in a new adidas-Champs collaborative commercial alongside Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard and Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller.

Since his Jan. 17 return from left ACL surgery, Shumpert is averaging 5.9 points per game in his second season on a much-improved 40.4 percent from 3-point range. The 50-26 Knicks are currently riding an NBA-best 12-game winning streak.
