GREENBURGH, N.Y. –- Mike Woodson says he sees no quitters on the New York Knicks despite a nine-game slide.
The Knicks might be in desperate need of a victory over the Nets on Thursday to boost morale. But he doesn't see anybody quitting.

“Will it be a springboard? I think any win for our team is important,” Woodson said on “The Stephen A. Smith and Ryan Ruocco Show” on ESPN New York 98.7 FM. “Just to arrange the psyche of our team. Right now I think the spirits are high still. Practice was spirited today. I think our guys are committed. They haven’t quit and I think they know what is ahead of us in terms of do we still have an opportunity to win the division and we do and rightfully so.
“To me, if it was a sign of quitting, I don’t think you would be in any game,” Woodson said. “But we have had opportunities down the stretch a la [against the] Indiana Pacers, [the] Chicago game, we have had some games where we have been right there and haven’t been able to close it. No I don’t think our players are quitting. I still think they are trying to figure out how to get off this slide.”
Carmelo Anthony may think the Knicks "are the laughingstock of the league right now," but Woodson isn't concerned about any speculation or reports that his job could be in danger if the Knicks lose their 10th straight game at the hands of a struggling Brooklyn Nets team.
“I am not even going to entertain it,” Woodson said. “I will let you guys do all the entertaining and all the talking about that. That is not my job to even entertain that.
“You guys, you put it out there, it’s out there,” he said. “Hey, I can’t go get it back. I got a job to do here in New York to try to get our team turned around headed in the right direction. That is what I am about.”
