Smith shot 17 3s!? J.R. would 'do it again'

J.R. Smith had some interesting things to say about his shot selection after Wednesday's win over Milwaukee.

Smith tweeted this after taking 17 three-pointers against the Bucks:

He then added:

As if anyone doubted that.

Smith tied a team record with his 17 attempts from deep.

He hit five of those 17 attempts and finished 7-for-23 for 19 points.

There's another interesting layer to this Smith story though.

Last week, the the 2012-13 Sixth Man Award winner took some heat from the coaching staff for his shot selection, a league source confirmed. Woodson and his staff weren't pleased with Smith's shot selection, so they pointed out some of the poor shots Smith took last Wednesday against Chicago, according to a league source. That followed a verbal argument between Woodson and Smith on the bench, according to the New York Daily News.

Smith seemed to be playing in protest in the Knicks' next game against Boston. He attempted just one shot in 26 minutes.

He referenced that performance in his string of tweets after Wednesday's game.

"We lose [and] I take 1 [shot] ya'll mad we win I take 23 shots y'all mad! Lol #OHWELL"
