Rodriguez blasted the first pitch he saw from Austin Bibens-Dirkx off the left-field wall for a double, plating Nimmo from first base in the second inning for the game's opening run. Following Pierce Rankin's game-tying solo homer a half-inning later against Seth Lugo, the B-Mets retook the lead in the third. Nimmo zipped a first-pitch fastball up the middle with two outs, plating Mazzilli. Brock Peterson stretched Binghamton’s lead to 3-1 by launching a solo homer in the fifth. Lugo retired 10 straight Fisher Cats after Rankin’s homer, but came unraveled in the sixth. Jorge Flores tripled. Dalton Pompey followed with a run-scoring drag-bunt single. Dwight Smith Jr. evened the score at 3 with an RBI double. Jon Berti ended Lugo’s night with a single. K.C.
