MILWAUKEE -- The battered New York Mets got one piece of positive injury news Tuesday: Jeurys Familia indicated pregame that he is ready to resume closing.
Familia felt tightness in his left groin in the eighth inning on Friday in Atlanta and was unavailable for the remainder of that series.
He tested the muscle at Miller Park on Tuesday afternoon with pitching coach Dan Warthen observing and declared himself ready for the series opener against the Milwaukee Brewers.
