Mets eyeing Philly for David Wright's return

NEW YORK -- If things continue to go according to plan, the New York Mets expect to welcome David Wright back to the majors during a four-game series at Philadelphia that begins next Monday.

Wright is 4-for-14 with two walks and three strikeouts through four rehab games with Class A St. Lucie as he works back from spinal stenosis in his lower back. He has played in three games at third base and committed two errors.

With St. Lucie playing across the state in Bradenton on Sunday and Monday, Wright took a two-day break from Florida State League games. He is expected to resume his rehab assignment with the club on Tuesday, when the team returns to Port St. Lucie.

Wright is likely to remain with St. Lucie for the duration of his rehab assignment.
