Minors 9.7.15: Outfielder Brock Peterson tosses three innings in B-Mets win

TACOMA 5, LAS VEGAS 0: Tim Stauffer surrendered a two-run homer to Jesus Montero in a three-run third and Las Vegas finished its season with a 77-67 record. A day after being eliminated from postseason contention, the 51s mustered two hits -- a first-inning double by Josh Rodriguez and a fifth-inning double by Dan Rohlfing. Logan Verrett, Dilson Herrera and Johnny Monell received call-ups to the majors after the game. Box

BINGHAMTON 8, ALTOONA 6 (12 innings): Outfielder Brock Peterson tossed three scoreless innings and earned the win as the B-Mets headed into the postseason on a high note. Vince Belnome belted a two-out, two-run, walk-off homer in the 12th inning. After the B-Mets failed to score in the ninth against outfielder-turned-pitcher Jonathan Schwind, Peterson moved from left field to the mound for his fourth career pitching appearance. The 13-year veteran worked around a two-out double in a scoreless 10th and sidestepped a leadoff single in the 11th. In the 12th, Adam Frazier ripped a one-out double, but was thrown out attempting to advance on a grounder. Following three scoreless innings from Schwind, first baseman Andy Vasquez inherited the tie score in the 12th. The hard-throwing position player gave up a leadoff single to Joe Benson before recording consecutive outs. Belnome then blasted an 0-1 pitch beyond the right-field wall, giving Binghamton a 77-64 record heading into the playoffs. Peterson (1-0) became the first position player in B-Mets history to register a win. He became the first B-Mets position player to pitch since Joe Bonfe faced Portland in the 15th inning on July 12, 2013. The B-Mets (77-64) open the Eastern Division Championship Series against Reading on Wednesday. Tyler Pill starts Game 1 for the B-Mets. Box

SAVANNAH 4, GREENVILLE 2: Corey Oswalt tossed six scoreless innings as the playoff-bound Gnats completed their regular season with an 84-53 record. After Greenville scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth, Ben Griset was summoned with the bases loaded and two outs to replace Chris Flexen. Griset induced a game-ending groundout from Jerry Downs to earn his first save. The Gnats open their first-round playoff series on Wednesday at Asheville. Box

STATEN ISLAND 5, BROOKLYN 2: The Cyclones completed their season with a 33-43 record. Starter Jose Celas (1-2) allowed three runs on two hits and four walks in four innings. Box
