Curtis Granderson diagnosed with pinkeye

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- New York Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson officially has been diagnosed with pinkeye after a visit to an eye specialist, team officials said.

Still, Granderson said Tuesday that the issue appears to have cleared up so quickly, he is unsure it actually was a case of conjunctivitis. Granderson planned to do baseball activity for a couple of days wearing glasses before returning to contact lenses.

He had been forced to depart camp on Monday because of the eye issue, which was never considered serious.
