          The Mets would like Chris Young to return on a minor league deal, the Post reported.

          Young underwent surgery to repair a torn anterior capsule in his pitching shoulder on May 16 and would not be ready until midseason under the best of circumstances. It's the same procedure from which Johan Santana is trying to return.

          There are mixed reports on Santana by the way. He hit 90 mph in a couple of late-season rehab appearances, but was only registering 86-88 mph his final two starts before being shut down to rest for the winter.
