          DENVER -- Submariner Greg Burke officially has been demoted by the Mets to clear a roster spot for the addition of Jeurys Familia.

          Burke, 30, had a 7.06 ERA in 7 1/3 innings spanning seven appearances. He allowed 10 hits and three walks while striking out seven.

          Burke had worked both games of Tuesday's doubleheader. Familia has not pitched since logging two innings Sunday, so his arm should be fresh.
