Wright, Murph will get days off soon

lastname Murphy

lastname Wright PHILADELPHIA -- Terry Collins would not identify the days, but the manager said David Wright and Daniel Murphy are due for a game off apiece during the remainder of the road trip, which takes the Mets to Chicago and San Francisco.

Murphy's logical day may be Thursday against Chicago Cubs left-hander Travis Wood. Lefties are hitting .161 against him, with righties hitting .294.

As for Wright, if it is to occur at Wrigley Field, Tuesday just might be the day. He is hitless in three at-bats against Tuesday starter Jake Arrieta, whereas Wright is 6-for-15 with a homer and three walks against Wednesday starter Edwin Jackson.

Wright has started every Mets game this season. Monday will be Murphy's 55th straight start since an opening-week paternity leave.
