Hefner still debating next step

NEW YORK -- Jeremy Hefner is resting a few more weeks to see if there is any improvement before deciding whether to undergo a second Tommy John surgery or try natural healing.

Hefner underwent the original procedure on Aug. 28, 2013. He departed a start with Class A on Aug. 6 and subsequently was diagnosed with a re-injury to a ligament in his right elbow as well as a stress fracture of the ulna bone.
