          Mejia surgery set for next week

          WASHINGTON -- Jenrry Mejia will undergo surgery to repair a sports hernia on Oct. 2 in Philadelphia, the closer told ESPNNewYork.com.

          Mejia has pitched with the injury throughout the second half of the season.

          The procedure will be performed by Dr. Bill Meyers, who operated on Scott Rice for a bilateral hernia last September.
