Rapid Reaction: Bucks 92, Nets 85

WHAT IT MEANS: Stupid Prudential Center. Stupid shooting background. The Nets shot 34.1 percent and fell 92-85 to the Bucks on Sunday night, dropping to 3-12 at home, 9-24 overall. The Nets, who have lost nine of their last 10, came in ranked 28th in the NBA in field goal percentage. They missed 38 of their first 49 shots. The Nets shot a season-low 30.9 percent in their home-opener against Atlanta on Dec. 27. They trailed by as many as 18.

LOOK, IT’S BROOK!: Brook Lopez was rusty in his first game back after missing the first 32 games of the season with a broken foot. The 23-year-old center finished with nine points and two rebounds in 22 minutes. He went just 2-for-7 from the field and 5-for-11 from the free throw stripe.

FIRST HALF FUTILITY: The Nets went 4-for-21 in the first quarter, and shot 22.7 percent in the first half, their lowest shooting percentage in any half this season.

D-WILL: Deron Williams had 19 of his 26 points in the second half. He tweaked what appeared to be his left ankle with 3:43 left in the third quarter and sat out the rest of the period, but returned at the start of the fourth.

ILYA OWNS YA: Nets killer Ersan Ilyasova had a career-high 29 points and 25 rebounds. His 25 rebounds tied Dwight Howard for the most in a single game this season. Dikembe Mutombo had 28 boards against the Nets with the Hawks on Dec. 26, 2000.

TURNING POINT: The Nets got within seven in the fourth, but Ilyasova hit a 3-pointer to start a 6-0 mini-run. Then the Nets got within five, but Carlos Delfino drained a triple with 50.2 seconds left to put the game away.

UP NEXT: Nets at Knicks, Monday night, 7:30 p.m. The Nets will be completing their second of two back-to-back-to-back stretches of the season.
