Who needs D-12?
Nets GM Billy King might as well go in another direction and give max money to Ersan Ilyasova.
Kidding. But seriously. All he does is kill them.
Ilyasova exploded for a career-high 29 points and 25 rebounds -- including 13! on the offense end -- in the Bucks’ 92-85 triumph over the Nets on Sunday night at Prudential Center.
“All you need to know about tonights game is that it was absolute #Ersanity from the one and only #TurkishThunder” Jon Brockman tweeted.
Hear that Jeremy Lin? #Ersanity
Ilyasova’s 25 rebounds tied the NBA’s single-game record this season, established by Dwight Howard on Jan. 18 against the Spurs -- in overtime. He’s the first Nets’ opponent in franchise history to tally 25-plus points and 25-plus rebounds in a game. His 13 offensive boards ties a Nets’ opponent record -- held by Moses Malone in 1980.
“Like I said it’s all about getting rebounds and getting second efforts,” said Ilyasova, whose previous single-game high was 19 boards. “The thing is trying to follow the ball when we shoot it to see if the ball is going to hit the rim. And like I said, it’s all about second efforts and we played very aggressive [Sunday night].”
Ilyasova had 11 rebounds in the first quarter, and would’ve finished with more had he not fouled out with 2:01 left in the game.
“He had a great game, man. Unfortunately, he couldn’t get 30 and 30,” Brandon Jennings said. “You know, he always seems to get the rebound; he has a nose for the ball.”
