Earlier this week, GM Brian Cashman promised a player move by the end of the week. Today, he made it. The Yankees acquired Scott Allen, a 19-year-old right-handed pitcher who spent last year in Single A, from the Arizona Diamondbacks in exchange for Cuban-born first baseman Juan Miranda.
Allen went 4-4 with a 4.73 ERA in 16 starts with Single-A South Bend in 2010. Miranda, 27, batted .219 (14-for-64) with three home runs and 10 RBI in 33 games with the Yankees in 2010.
