Freddy Garcia will start Monday night in Baltimore. CC Sabathia, Phil Hughes and A.J. Burnett will start (in that order) at Fenway Park in the Yankees' mid-week series against Boston. That means all of the Yankees' starters will get one more turn through the rotation before Girardi and the Yankees' braintrust decide who to cut from the rotation to get it to the traditional five starters.

Girardi said he wouldn't base his decision on one start, but recent history indicates that Burnett has pitched his way out of the rotation, barring an injury or a miracle start by Burnett in Boston. He has just one win in his last ten starts and got shelled against the Orioles on Friday night.
