Buzz: Manny B, as in bad; D.J. good

A recurring feature of the blog, Buzz, will follow Manny Banuelos and Dellin Betances, as well as other top Yankee prospects, all season long.

Super prospect Manny Banuelos did not have a good day Wednesday. In his one inning, Banuelos gave up four runs, all earned, on three hits, including a three-run homer to Edwin Encarnacion.

"He couldn't throw his secondary pitches for strikes and he was behind so that is just a tough combination," Joe Girardi said. "You look at what D.J. Mitchell did. He was able to throw his curveball behind in the count and get back in the count and throw some fastballs for strikes. Manny just really struggled with his command."

Mitchell retired all nine batters he faced, striking out four. He is a guy to watch, even if he is often mentioned after the Killer B's, David Phelps and Adam Warren.
