A senior New York Yankees official told ESPNNewYork.com the team has been informed by Major League Baseball officials that Robinson Cano is not in danger of being suspended in the ongoing Biogenesis scandal.

"Cano is not a part of this," the official said.
ESPN's "Outside the Lines" has reported that Sonia Cruz, a spokeswoman for Cano's foundation, was listed in the Biogenesis documents. MLB could conceivably ask Anthony Bosch if Cruz purchased anything illegal and if they were for Cano. But the Yankees are confident that Cano is not involved.
Also, if Rodriguez were to be suspended 100 games, the Yankees would save approximately $15 million, but it is unlikely they could void his contract.
