Yanks: Tex day-to-day; Beltran works out

NEW YORK -- The Yankees announced Thursday that Mark Teixeira met with Dr. Keith Raskin, who confirmed Tex is experiencing inflammation in his right wrist. The Bombers are listing their first baseman, who missed all three game of the Cardinals series in St. Louis, as day-to-day.

Meanwhile, the team said, Carlos Beltran (elbow) hit the Yankee Stadium batting cage, taking 25 swings from each side of the plate, receiving soft toss from hitting coach Kevin Long. He did not experience any discomfort and is scheduled to repeat this workout Friday. Beltran, on the 15-day DL, hasn't played since May 12 against the Mets.
