Phil Hughes' turn in the rotation will be skipped once again, meaning he will have just one more regular-season start and then perhaps as much as 11 days rest before getting his first start in the postseason.
Joe Girardi announced before tonight's game with the Red Sox that Hughes, scheduled to pitch Sunday against Boston, would be pushed back to Wednesday against the Blue Jays in Toronto. That would keep Hughes at or around the regular-season innings limit the Yankees have imposed him, believed to be 175.
Right now, Hughes (17-8, 4.31 ERA) has logged 169-1/3 innings. Full story here.
