Looks like Kelly will be Skins' No. 2 WR

With his performance Thursday in Jacksonville, it appears that Malcolm Kelly has nailed down the No. 2 spot opposite Santana Moss. Kelly gives Jason Campbell a big target and he's been catching balls in traffic. Campbell hinted two weeks ago that Kelly would be the starter, but I'm not sure I picked up on it. I think a lot of people in the organization thought Devin Thomas would step forward and claim the job. But Kelly's consistency (and maturity) were too much for Thomas to overcome.

Mike Wise of the Washington Post made the trip to Jacksonville and ended up writing about personnel chief Vinny Cerrato. Give Cerrato some credit for hitting on Marko Mitchell out of Nevada. The guy just keeps making plays. So is he just a training camp wonder or could he be a valuable contributor this season? We're about to find out.

I think you'd have to say that Colt Brennan performed better than Chase Daniel on Thursday. But Brennan injured his hamstring at the end of the game. I think coach Jim Zorn is leaning toward keeping Daniel, but that's just my gut. Could the Redskins get Daniel through to the practice squad? Probably so.
