ORLANDO, Fla. -- We’re expecting a couple of newsy developments Monday at the NFL owners meeting. Although announcement schedules can change at a moment’s notice, we should find out:
A number of high-profile NFL games to preview the full 2010 schedule. As we discussed last week, Minnesota could open its season Sept. 9 at New Orleans. Detroit will be hosting New England and Chicago could travel to Dallas, both on Thanksgiving Day.
Compensatory draft picks. These extra picks, essentially a gift for teams with a net loss of free agents the previous year, are impossible to predict with 100 percent accuracy. But one reliable analyst, known as AdamJT13, suggested earlier this month that Green Bay and Minnesota should get an additional fifth- or sixth-round pick. Detroit should get a seventh. Chicago is unlikely to receive one.
