Vikings could face another schedule change

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Post-Christmas greetings to everyone from Packerland, where I'll be heading over the Lambeau Field in a few hours. But first, we should pass along the possibility of another schedule change for the Minnesota Vikings.

A blizzard in Philadelphia could cause the postponement of the Sunday night game against the Eagles, reports ESPN's Chris Mortensen. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello, via Twitter, said the league is discussing the matter.

Obviously, football can be played in snow. But in blizzard conditions, the NFL has to ensure that teams, stadium workers and fans can arrive to the stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET, at which point up to a foot of snow might have already fallen. Wind gusts up to 40 miles per hour have also been predicted.

The Vikings have already had one game postponed and the site of two games shifted because of the Metrodome roof collapse. In other words, a delay Sunday would simply be par for the course. Stay tuned.
