Some business news as we wrap up a wild day of football: ESPN.com senior writer John Clayton is reporting the Green Bay Packers have agreed to terms on a contract extension with receiver Jordy Nelson.

The deal is worth up to $13.35 million over three years, a bit more than the $9.4 million deal the Packers gave receiver James Jones this summer, and provides further indication that Nelson is slowly transitioning into the Packers’ No. 2 receiver role.
Nelson’s 15 receptions are the second-most among Packers receivers, and his three touchdowns are tied for the team lead. I don’t have updated playing time counts yet, but through three games he had played 106 of the Packers 204 plays, just behind Donald Driver and significantly ahead of Jones.
The Packers have now taken care of their so-called “easy” contract situations, signing Nelson and right guard Josh Sitton in recent weeks. Now one big issue is looming front and center: Tight end Jermichael Finley is in the final year of his rookie deal. If there have been substantive talks, they haven’t been made public yet.
