Chicago Bears starting lineup projection

Projecting the starting lineup for the Chicago Bears heading into training camp.

Offense

Quarterback (Jay Cutler): The Bears' career leader in passer rating (84.3) and passing yards (18,725).

Running back (Matt Forte): His 102 receptions last year broke the NFL single-season mark for receptions by a running back.

Wide receiver (Alshon Jeffery): He recorded his second consecutive 1,000-yard receiving season in 2014, becoming just the fourth Bears player to ever accomplish that feat.

Tight end (Martellus Bennett): Bennett led all NFL tight ends last year with 90 catches.

Left tackle (Jermon Bushrod): In his eighth NFL season, Bushrod has started 92 of his 96 games played.

Left guard (Matt Slauson): Injuries limited Slauson to only five starts for the Bears in 2014.

Center (Will Montgomery): A 32-year old veteran, Montgomery previously played for Bears head coach John Fox in Carolina and Denver.

Right guard (Kyle Long): Long became the first Bears offensive lineman to be named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first two seasons in the league.

Right tackle (Jordan Mills): A 2013 fifth-round draft choice, Mills has started 29 games.

Wide receiver (Eddie Royal): Royal caught 62 balls for 778 yards and seven touchdowns for the San Diego Chargers last year.

Wide receiver (Kevin White): The No. 7 overall pick, White was the second receiver taken in the 2015 NFL draft.

Defense

Left defensive end (Jarvis Jenkins): Jenkins started 33 games for the Washington Redskins from 2012-14.

Nose tackle (Jeremiah Ratliff): Ratliff set a career-high with 3.5 sacks versus Miami in Week 7 of last season.

Right defensive end (Ego Ferguson): As a rookie, Ferguson appeared in all 16 contests last season, recording 27 tackles and 2.0 sacks.

Left outside linebacker (Pernell McPhee): McPhee, formerly of the Ravens, signed a five-year contract in the offseason with $15.5 million in guaranteed money.

Left inside linebacker (Christian Jones): Jones finished third on the team last year with 98 total tackles.

Right inside linebacker (Mason Foster): Foster totaled 343 career tackles over four seasons for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Right outside linebacker (Sam Acho): Acho arrives in Chicago with 32 starts under his belt but suffered a broken leg in 2013 while a member of the Arizona Cardinals.

Cornerback (Kyle Fuller): Fuller led all rookies last season with four interceptions and was tied for first with three forced fumbles.

Cornerback (Tim Jennings): He failed to intercept a pass last year after recording a combined 13 interceptions from 2012-13.

Safety (Antrel Rolle): Rolle hasn’t missed a regular-season game since 2009.

Safety (Ryan Mundy): Mundy started all 16 games last year and recorded his first NFL touchdown on a 45-yard interception return against the New York Jets.

Special teams

Place-kicker (Robbie Gould): Gould is the sixth-most accurate kicker in NFL history at 85.6 percent (243-of-284).

Punter (Pat O'Donnell): O'Donnell's 43.8-yard gross average was the seventh-highest in team history.

Long-snapper (Thomas Gafford): Gafford snapped for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2008-14.

Returner (Marc Mariani): Mariani played in the final six games for the Bears in 2014, returning 20 kickoffs for 510 yards and seven punts for 29 yards.
