Now that roster movement has slowed down, let’s take a look at where the four NFC South teams stand under the salary cap.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lead the division and are second in the league with $27.2 million in cap space. Don’t be surprised if the Bucs start using some of that room for contract extensions as the season goes on.
The league average is just about $11 million under the cap, but the Bucs are the only division team above the average.
The New Orleans Saints have $4.4 million in cap space. The Carolina Panthers are at $2.9 million and the Atlanta Falcons are $2.3 million under the cap.
