Another step for Darrelle Revis

It’s another week and another step for Tampa Bay cornerback Darrelle Revis.

The Buccaneers continued their string of letting Revis do a little more each week by letting the cornerback take part in 7-on-7 drills Monday. He did get knocked to the ground by receiver Vincent Jackson, but that’s all part of the process as Revis makes his way back from a torn ACL.

Revis will travel with the team to New England, where the Bucs and Patriots will practice together for the next few days before playing a preseason game Friday night. But coach Greg Schiano said Revis won’t practice against the Patriots. Instead, he’ll do individual work on the side.

The Bucs keep saying their goal is to have Revis ready for the regular-season opener. But I’m thinking the next step toward that goal might be to have Revis play a few snaps in either the third or fourth preseason game.
