Three of four NFC West teams made Super Bowl appearances during the first decade of the 2000s.

That's not bad for a division that has earned its share of criticism as well.

NFC West teams can thank some high-level quarterbacking.

In looking back on the decade, I made a run through Pro Football Reference for a look at which NFC West quarterbacks were most productive during the decade (Rams, Cardinals, Seahawks, 49ers).

Matt Hasselbeck and Kurt Warner each threw 161 touchdown passes for NFC West teams during the decade. They were within one interception of each other as well. I adjusted the numbers for games started to include this season (Pro Football Reference updates starts after the season).

Hasselbeck threw for more yards, but he also had 26 additional starts.

Warner prevailed as the highest-rated passer among the four quarterbacks with at least 10,000 yards for NFC West teams during the decade.

I would rank Warner as the best quarterback in the division this decade, followed by Hasselbeck. Garcia enjoyed some strong seasons and his numbers were good, but he started only 61 games. The playoff success Warner and Hasselbeck enjoyed separates them from the Rams' Marc Bulger, in my view.
