The Cardinals wanted Joey Porter to help bring an edge to their defense on the field -- not in fast-food parking lots.
Let's just say Porter's arrest on suspicion of drunken driving, assaulting an officer and resisting arrest counts as a bad start to his Arizona career.
The Cardinals were certainly expecting something different.
The Cardinals signed Porter after determining he would embrace a team-first concept, fitting his super-sized personality into the locker room. This incident should only help in that regard; Porter should arrive contrite and knowing there's little room for error.
The next question is to what degree this incident might invite punishment from the league.
