One snap away for Cardinals' Max Hall

The Arizona Cardinals saw some Kurt Warner-type qualities in Max Hall after signing him as an undrafted free agent from BYU.

The degree to which they liked Hall made it much easier for the team to move on without Matt Leinart, whose release will become officials once processed by the NFL office.

Hall, informed that he will serve as the No. 2 quarterback behind Derek Anderson, surely realizes things can change quickly. It's possible the Cardinals could land a veteran quarterback at some point. But they're excited enough about Hall to go into the season with him as their backup.

Expect much more on the subject from coach Ken Whisenhunt, who has a news conference scheduled for Saturday at 3 p.m. ET.
