NFL fines Cardinals, not two others

The NFL fined Arizona Cardinals defensive linemen Calais Campbell and Darnell Dockett $5,000 apiece for their actions in Week 1.

The San Francisco 49ers' Dashon Goldson and the St. Louis Rams' James Hall escaped punishment despite incurring 15-yard penalties during their teams' regular-season openers.

Campbell's fine stemmed from a roughing-the-passer penalty attributed to him during the third quarter of the Cardinals' 17-13 victory over the Rams. Officials also flagged Hall for roughing in that quarter, but there was no fine for him.

Goldson was flagged for unnecessary roughness following an incomplete pass to John Carlson during the third quarter of the 49ers' game at Seattle.

The league fined Dockett for breaking its rule against tweeting within 90 minutes of kickoff. Dockett didn't say anything I can even remember, but that's a rule the NFL is going to enforce.
