Seahawks down to third-team left tackle

OAKLAND -- Chester Pitts is playing left tackle for the Seattle Seahawks in his first game since undergoing knee surgery early last season.

Tyler Polumbus, the starter Sunday, suffered a knee injury late in the third quarter against Oakland. His return is questionable, the Seahawks said.

Regular starter Russell Okung remains unavailable while recovering from a high-ankle sprain.

Seattle's offensive line is running into personnel issues similar to the ones that severely hurt the team last season. That is significant with Osi Umenyiora and the New York Giants visiting Qwest Field in Week 9.
