2011 NFL free agents by team, position

The NFL Players Association projects 508 players as potential unrestricted free agents this offseason, should there be free agency.

The count reflects players who had at least three accrued seasons heading into 2010 and contracts that expire or can void this offseason.

I've broken down the totals a couple ways already -- by division and experience -- and will now take a positional look by team.

The positions can be inexact for teams running 3-4 defenses. For example, the NFLPA lists San Francisco 49ers outside linebacker Travis LaBoy as a defensive end, the position he would play in a 4-3 scheme. Keep that in mind when evaluating defensive front sevens.

This one can be useful in quickly determining, for example, that Arizona could have some decisions to make on its offensive line. Center Lyle Sendlein, guard Deuce Lutui and guard Alan Faneca are among five Arizona offensive linemen with expiring contracts.
