Mike Tirico, Trent Dilfer, Chris Mortensen and Mel Kiper Jr. turned their attention toward the San Francisco 49ers during their latest NFL draft video installment.

They sized up Jim Harbaugh and debated Alex Smith's future before considering draft options. Kiper pointed to North Carolina's Robert Quinn as a potential upgrade for the pass rush.

There wasn't any talk about the 49ers taking a quarterback seventh overall, a likely reflection of two factors:

• A suitable quarterback might not be available at No. 7;

• There's a feeling Harbaugh could develop a quarterback acquired at a lower price (Kiper mentioned TCU's Andy Dalton as a second-round option).
