Robert Quinn feels 'good vibe' on Rams visit

Lifting of the NFL lockout would benefit the St. Louis Rams' first-round pick, Robert Quinn, more than most.

Quinn did not play in 2010 thanks to an NCAA suspension. He'll need extra practice reps to get back into playing shape. If there's no lockout, teams can hold post-draft minicamps, training camps and the like. Quinn needs the work.

"It put a smile on my face to know that football’s right here for me," Quinn told reporters in St. Louis during his introductory news conference Friday, "because it's been so long and I'm really just anxious and excited to get back to it."

Quinn said several teammates -- James Laurinaitis, Chris Long and Sam Bradford among them -- reached out via text messages shortly after the Rams selected him. Quinn and a few others met with defensive line coach Brendan Daly on Friday.

"They were joking around, so I was kind of getting a good vibe around here," Quinn said.
