Score to settle: NFC West 43, Saints 40

NFC West teams combined for 43 points in Week 3, the lowest total for any division.

Teams from the NFC East scored 45 despite having only two teams playing Sunday. The Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys will add to that total when they play Monday night.

New Orleans, with 40 points against Houston, nearly outscored the NFC West.

2011: Week 3 Scoring

Despite the overall lack of divisional scoring, two NFC West teams came through with decisive touchdown drives in second halves of their games.

Seattle's 14-play, 72-yard drive against Arizona ended with Tarvaris Jackson's 11-yard scoring run. Jackson was more aggressive with his running this week, carrying four times for 20 yards.

The Seahawks converted three third downs during the drive, two on passes to rookie Doug Baldwin and a third on Marshawn Lynch's 3-yard run.

San Francisco beat Cincinnati thanks largely to a 10-play, 72-yard drive in the fourth quarter. The 49ers got to third down only once during the drive, which featured three Vernon Davis receptions for 36 yards. Rookie Kendall Hunter gained first downs on each of his three runs during the drive, including a 7-yarder for the touchdown.
