Seattle Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson had no touchdowns, two interceptions and four sacks on play-action passes before Monday night.

The lack of production in those situations was a bit confounding given Marshawn Lynch's increasingly strong presence as a running threat.

Play-action Passing: Week 14

Seattle made strides in its play-action passing game during a 30-13 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Monday night.

Jackson completed 6 of 8 play-action passes, including one for a touchdown, according to ESPN Stats & Information. His Rams counterpart, Sam Bradford, was less effective on these plays, as the chart shows.

Seattle's play-action threat should strengthen as Lynch continues to rack up yardage.

Lynch has 969 yards in 12 games this season. That includes 706 yards in his last six games, an average of 117.7 yards per game.

Lynch gained 49 of his 115 yards against the Rams after contact, giving him a league-high 336 yards after contact since Week 9, according to ESPN Stats & Information. Lynch averages 2.2 yards per carry after contact, ranking among the NFL leaders in that category.

The Seahawks have reached 100 yards rushing as a team in six consecutive games, their longest streak since the 1996 team did it seven games in a row. The 2005 team had five such games in a row, including a game against Houston with 320 yards on the ground.
