The NFC West has produced an NFC offensive, defensive or special-teams player of the week for the ninth time this season.
Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman has won the honor for defense after a truly dominant performance. Sherman finished the team's 28-7 victory against the New York Jets with an interception deep in Seahawks territory, a fumble-forcing sack and three passes defensed. The Jets did not complete a pass against Sherman in coverage.
Teammate Jason Jones recovered the fumble Sherman forced. The Jets scored their only touchdown on a fumble return.
