Jameis Winston near flawless in practice

TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie quarterback Jameis Winston continued his string of strong practices Saturday.

Winston was close to flawless, completing 14 of his first 15 passes in 11-on-11 drills. Overall, Winston unofficially completed 16 of 20 passes in 11-on-11 drills.

In 7-on-7 drills, Winston completed 7 of 8 passes. Most importantly, Winston didn't throw a single interception and continues to impress the coaching staff.

"He's picked up the offense quicker than I anticipated," quarterbacks coach Mike Bajakian said.

Bajakian was asked what he wants to see out of Winston in Monday night's preseason game against Cincinnati.

"Progress," Bajakian said. "Making some of the throws that he missed and being on the same page with his wide receivers and tight ends. Obviously, to continue to progress in overall management of the offense, overall general improvement. Every day he's coming out to work and getting better."
