Mike Iupati passes concussion protocol

TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona Cardinals left guard Mike Iupati has passed the NFL mandated concussion protocol, coach Bruce Arians said Wednesday.

Iupati lifted weights Wednesday “and had no problems,” Arians said. But Iupati’s status for Sunday night’s game against Cincinnati is still undetermined.

Arians said team will “see what he can do” Thursday to determine if he can practice later this week.

“The neck is still sore, so we’re working on that a little bit,” Arians said.

Iupati suffered a neck injury in the second quarter of Arizona’s 39-32 win at Seattle on Sunday night. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he underwent a CT scan, x-ray and MRI, which were all negative. He flew back to Arizona with the team Sunday night and was in the Cardinals’ locker room Monday morning.
