While the San Francisco 49ers fans sweat over playoff seeding, those following the other NFC West teams have 2012 NFL draft order to consider heading into Week 17.
OleSagginSeahawk visited an earlier item and asked in the comments section how finishing 7-9 or 8-8 could affect order. A few places in the first round can affect a team's chances for landing the player it wants. The stakes are even higher for teams seeking quarterbacks -- teams such as the Seahawks, for instance.
Katie Sharp of ESPN Stats & Information provided the current order through 22 picks, with strength of schedule (weakness of schedule, actually) as the tiebreaker. She said the "worst" 7-9 team would pick ninth, while the "best" 8-8 team would pick 20th. Those are the extreme ranges for teams finishing 7-9 or 8-8, without regard for all the strength-of-schedule possibilities for Arizona or Seattle in particular.
