IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys guard Brian Waters is out for the season with a triceps injury. But the veteran is still trying to explore options to play despite being ruled out by team owner Jerry Jones.
Waters said Thursday he hasn't gotten to the point yet where he needs to try on an arm brace. Last season, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis tore his triceps and returned for the playoffs.
Defensive end DeMarcus Ware (thigh), wide receiver Miles Austin (hamstring), safety Danny McCray (toe and hip), cornerback Morris Claiborne (hamstring), safety J.J. Wilcox (knee) and linebacker DeVonte Holloman (neck) missed practice.
Running back DeMarco Murray (knee) took part in practice for the second consecutive day and seems to be a go for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.
"He's looked like he made some progress," coach Jason Garrett said. "We'll keep evaluating him as the week goes on."
