Has it really come to this?

Team Canada general manager Doug Armstrong was asked Thursday about Sidney Crosby making the initial 16-player roster for the World Cup of Hockey, which is due March 1.

Um, no-brainer, said the GM.

"There is no discussion about Sidney," Armstrong said at a Hockey Canada news conference announcing the coaching staff. "He will be part of the first group of 16 players."

Crosby has struggled early this season with six points (two goals, four assists) through 12 games, but he obviously remains very much a slam dunk for Team Canada’s brain trust.
