North Carolina freshman James Michael McAdoo is questionable to play in the the Tar Heels' ACC opener against Boston College on Saturday after spraining his left ankle in practice Wednesday.
X-rays performed on the injury Thursday were negative, a team spokesman wrote in an email. It occurred when McAdoo landed on teammate Tyler Zeller's leg after jumping into the air.
McAdoo, a 6-foot-9 reserve, is averaging 6.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 14.5 minutes for the Tar Heels. If he can't play, expect 6-5 senior Justin Watts and 6-9 freshman Desmond Hubert to get more minutes in the post.
