The return of the Notre Dame-Army rivalry may still happen, just not next year.

The schools won't play at Yankee Stadium -- or against each other at all -- in 2013, Notre Dame spokesman John Heisler said.

The schools last met in the Bronx, N.Y., in 2010.

Army athletic director Boo Corrigan, who graduated from Notre Dame in 1990 and later spent five years as an associate AD there, had told the (Middletown, N.Y.) Times Herald-Record last week that a future series with the Irish is in the works and could be announced soon, leaving open the possibility of a game being played at Yankee Stadium.
